Ok....this is gonna sound really dumb (stupid....are you kidding?, etc) but I bought a pack of mottled hen pheasant feathers and cannot for the life of me remember why I did this.

Any patterns you use with this feather\fiber? :oops:
 
Maybe you saw it in a video or fly recipe but you're not the first tyer to forget why you bought a specific tying material. I don't use them but I use mottled Turkey for wing cases.

Feather-Craft advertises "Hen Pheasant Tail Whole Clumps" for " highly mottled and speckled tan/brown/black tail fibers nymph bodies, nymph tails, beards and wing-cases, speckled caddis legs/wings, small hopper legs.."

March brown wet fly wings. I came across my saved web site tying video.
 
I didn't get the picture when I replies first time. I thought you were talking about neck or cape.

Yep they would look nice on a March brown wet.
