Marabou sliding on streamer hooks

As a Browns fan, the NFL playoffs are completely meaningless to me, so I’ve been tying some sparkle minnow streamers this afternoon. I noticed that the marabou tends to roll over on me when I tie in the body materials. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to prevent marabou from sliding or roiling over on a streamer hook?

I recently saw a Tim Flagler post.
Rather than starting with your marabou “flat/ next to the hook”
Keep your marabou held slightly above the hook shank at an angle and progress your wraps

Also, perhaps try a soft thread wrap that u will secure with more pressure,
AS U WRAP THREAD UP….rather than pulling with pressure downward

There is also a trick with deer hair that will also help with marabou. Make your first wrap loose and as you wrap pull them tighter and tighter and it should not spin on the hook.

Pinch wrapping is a technique that everyone should learn & practice for any material you want to stay on top of the hook shank.

More & more wraps isn't always a good solution not to mention it creates bulk, wastes time and thread...
That's the answer, and the video is very good.

It's brief, and explains and shows the technique perfectly.

I think the problem is being misinterpreted. The Marabou is rolling over when the body material is being tied in. In which case you’re not wrapping the thread tight enough when affixing the marabou. Tying marabou on top of the hook shank is pretty straight forward. What thread are you using? Superglue will fix the problem if it persists.
