Have hit Middle Branch White Clay Creek several times these past two weeks. Nymped between the bridges and have a good idea where trout are holding. Have tried WD40s, Zebra Midges, Caddis Pupaes, Hares Ears all in the 18-20 range on size 6x tippet and have gotten no hits. There are risers but when I've looked closely, it's not the trout that's rising ... is other fish. Have lifted river rocks to see what insects might be hatching and have found nothing. Obviously the trout are feeding but have no idea on what.

All thoughts/ideas would be most welcome.

Stocked Beta tend to kill each other before the season begins. If you find some let us know.

Sorry guys, beta is a term meaning advice.

Don't apologize. I'm old and not update, the problem is all mine.

I just thought of the fish and it made me laugh.

Lol, your comment did make me laugh as well.

Last time I fished White Clay I did well tight lining the fast riffles and runs. On my way back to my truck there were some steady risers so I put on a cdc caddis. Caught three chubs before giving up. Besides midges the only thing I really saw were Tan Caddis which happens to be a good search pattern anyway.

The risers I've seen there have all been chubs and is what I've caught as well.
