Long hikes to the fishing spot

I agree with this, especially when long hikes, and remote streams.

I have a dry erase board on my fridge that says "look for my body at ____ stream/creek/river"

I ended up getting the orvis ultralight wading boots. They seem to be a vast improvement in weight over my Simms guide boots. I got to fish in them the other day and were like having my favorite hiking boots on.

Good advice on letting someone know. On the trips with a significant hike in, I’ll leave maps, gps coordinates, everything etc for my wife. I also carry a charger for the cell phone
