Heading out to the river tomorrow. What's flies would be best this time of year? Not familiar with all the hatches on the river.

Thanks !!

Tom

I used to fish that stream for years. Watch out for the local meth heads, they "patrol" certain parts.

This time of year I recall using black stonefly nymphs (size 6), any soft hackle pattern, any size perdigon. As for dries a black stimulator was very effective.

Good luck!

I only fished it once. My guess is that a hopper dropper might work

Also it might depend on where you’re fishing

+1. This is what I’d do. Adjust the dropper based on conditions. If low and clear go with something small…16 or 18 beadhead of some kind. If up and off color toss on a big heavy Stonefly. A foam Hopper will float pretty much whatever you want.

pcray and I had a really good day a few years ago after a rain event doing the above. More fish than I would’ve anticipated ate the Hopper, which was fun.

Which section of the Stream do you intend to fish. The upper and lower stretch are quite different
