Korkers Devil Canyon wading boot review

Just wanted to take a moment to drop a quick review of my latest pair of wading boots - Korkers Devil's Canyon. This is the third pair of Korkers wading boots I've owned with replaceable soles and Boa laces. When I was looking at a new pair, the lightweight nature of the Devil's Canyon boot caught my eye. As someone who likes to do a decent amount of walking when I fish, the lighter weight seemed really appealing. Since I've been using Korkers boots with Boa laces I can't imagine going back to regular laces. Knock on wood, but I've never had a set of Boa laces fail and they're just so easy to use. Overall I'd highly recommend these boots if your ankles are sufficiently strong, as they do lack lateral stability that most other wading boots have.

Wading boots can be a confusing topic for many, but you truly do get what you pay for. I don't ever see myself moving away from Korkers, as they have held up well and the interchangeable soles are a modern-day miracle!

Pros:

• Fairly lightweight
• Price point ($200ish)
• Boa laces
• Interchangeable soles
• Ease of use

Cons:

• No D Ring for waders (not a big deal for my waders, but may be for some)
• No lateral stability (if your ankles need support)

I 100% agree with the lacking ankle support. I am honestly not a fan of the BOA system. I'd rather have laces. Easier to repair if something does go wrong.

I’m nursing a pair of Buckskins on their last legs. They’re 4 or more years old at this time and have held up well. Been happy with what I got out of them for what I paid. Have a set of Terror Ridge’s new in box for when they kick it. Got them on a good STP deal a while back.

It’s good to know about the ankle support on the Devils Canyon. Almost wonder if that was intentional, to go more the UL route, as generally Korkers excel at ankle stabliity.
