Inchworm vs. Ant

I love fly fishing terrestrials. Beetles and ants, both floating and sinking are my favorite however I also carry and use floating inchworms, sinking inchworms, crickets and even grasshoppers.

Now that the tricos are on I fish them in the morning and fish terrestrials after they are done for the morning. My favorite flyfishing of the entire year.

I used to fish ants quite a bit, and they do work well.

Then I tried beetles.
IMO, they work just as well, if not better.
I like the little plop they make when landing - it seems to get the fish's attention.
Plus, they're easier for me to see on the water.
