I haven't been out since January and I am crawling in my skin right now. I have been waiting for a good day to call off and spend the day fishing, and work wise tomorrow is a perfect day. The weather, mainly the forecasted wind, has me second guessing if I should burn a precious sick day or wait for more optimal conditions.
I am typically not the kind of guy that won't go fishing because of weather conditions, but again, the burning of the sick day is the main hangup here. I can only afford to burn 2 or 3 at the most on fishing excursions in a year (dont worry, I use plenty of vacation days on fishing, but not until after the end of April). It is also my experience that the bite is negativly impacted by a big temperature swing as well. And its supposed to be sunny.....not my favorite fishing condition either.
To be clear, I would be trout fishing somewhere in central PA.
So i ask you fellow anglers if I should say to hell with it and take my chances with the wind, or wait a week or 2 for a calmer, overcast day with steady temperatures?
Edited because my original post got cut off for some reason.
