In select streams i’ll often harvest my legal limit of specific species of trout. However, I don’t like the taste of them and have some friends that request them from time to time. But when I have no takers and don’t want them to go to waste I have thought of donating them to a good environmental cause like a raptor rescue. Someplace that takes injured or sick birds and nurses them back to health. I just have not found one yet.
I have heard some places take fish if guts taken out and no lead sinkers that hurt the birds. Have heard some don’t though. Is anyone else out there donating any fish they remove(blue catfish, snakeheads, flatheads ect.) to bird rescues? If so can you recommend one in the Berks County/Pocono area?
Thanks in advance, Kev
