Sorry I really feel that IMHO this site could be better if it was that way. I know it won't change.

I've used my real name on a site and when I Google myself, all the posts I've made going back for years comes up in the search. It's not a problem, but anyone with bad intentions can glean a ton of info about a person by doing a simple search. Not a good idea, IMO.
