The two wild browns I mentioned keeping both had very pink meat. A lot depends on their diet, I believe.Brookies look like that, not browns in my experience

One time, years ago, we kept some wild browns out of a famous central PA limestoner. Later that night, as we were camped on the banks and after having consumed copious amounts of beer, we gutted them, scraped the blood line, de-headed them, wrapped them in foil, and threw them in the fire. They were freaking delicious! The meat was very pink and very salmon like on those wild browns!Brookies look like that, not browns in my experience
