From and Action Alert issued by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation:
"Just six weeks ago, EPA and the Bay states adopted the new "pollution diet." Its detailed plans will reduce pollution and, if implemented fully, put us well on the way to a saved Bay.
Shockingly, the House of Representatives' FY2011 Appropriations bill threatens to undo these plans to restore the Bay and its rivers. The bill makes deep cuts to clean water and restoration programs.
To add insult to injury, Virginia Congressman Bob Goodlatte is proposing an amendment that, if successful, would halt the implementation of the new "pollution diet."
The House may vote on the bill as early as tomorrow."
I've heard that the Clean Air programs are in the crosshairs too, not just the clean water ones.
We are all urged to contact our Representatives asap to voice our opinions.
