Bitteroot Montana July 19-26 2014

Slip over to the upper big hole in the hay meadows and try for a grayling if you have never caught one.
Must see country for the scenery-you will remember it.
Most importantly-get your butt up-first hint of light -be there this time of year.

I just returned from that area as well. W. Fork Bitterroot was hot all day. From 11am-5pm a foam stone and brindle chute were taking big fish and plenty of them. Even during the 100 Degree days it was great all day. You should run into plenty of big fish on the main stem from a boat. From what I understand they weren't boating a ton of fish, but they were very large. Every boat/guide I talked to had the same story as that.

good news but there is huge difference between the end of salmon fly hatch and late july early August.
