Best Fish of 2022

My best fish was probably the one on the left caught close to the LJ that had a big bucket mouth and half of its tail bitten off, and the one on the right was the most memorable. The coloring on it in the picture do not do it justice - had a crazy band gradient going from yellow to green to brown.

This one from Penns in October is a close second because of how colored up it was.

Biggest: a couple of 24" rainbows on nymphs.

Best: 22" wild brown on a Sulphur dry fly.

Most fun: 7 weeks of dry flies during the autumn. I didn't have to drown a nymph for nearly two months!

It took 12 replies for someone to add a picture of a native species!!! Don't you people see what is happening here? Brook trout, brook trout are native brook trout.

You forgot the rally cry "Our state fish"...

Hey, you come on here spewing your brookie supremacist nonsense and try to get a reaction from all these brown trout fishing dolts. Won't work on me buddy!

I fish for rainbows 🤣🤣

Man, lots of pics on here from the West Branch. Must be some kind of fishery. Looks like I might have to give it a shot this year.

The 9inch brown caught during the Jam .GG

Thats probably my biggest brown I ever caught. Loved all the spots on that rainbow!

Pics, no, this is my work computer, but I have some good stories. Probably caught the most trout this year than in any other year.

Went 6/12 steelhead (6 caught and 6 broke off) on Elk Creek on the 4th and 6th of Nov this year. It was truly impressive to see fish at an average of 8-10 lbs. rocketing up the creek looking like torpedo's. Catching the fish is just half of the better and easier than landing them. Thankfully I fished with a more knowledgeable couple that helped me get into and land fish. I had to completely change the way I thought about fighting fish as I never fought a fish where I wasn't in control. A glorious experience... and I'll be back at it again in March.

I can tell your hands are wet and you are not squeezing the trout. Also you are looking upon the fish with reverence. Well done sir!

Some really pretty trout on this post!!
