I don't know why, but I was just thinking about the film, "Alone in the Wilderness" which is the story of D!ck Proenneke, one man who lived his dream in the Alaska Wilderness.

If there are any of you out there on PAFF who never saw this film and his story, you should seek it out. It is an truly amazing documentary of what he did all by himself in the middle of nowhere.

I watched that film a long time ago. It really is an amazing story! Someone living like that is basically unheard of. It takes a VERY special type of person to be alone like that, in the middle of nowhere, for such a long period of time. His craftsmanship is something to behold!

I also watched a video of his daughter describing his life in the wilderness. I forget where I saw it though.

I saw that some time ago, and as posted above was the craftsmanship involved, that guy had an iron will and a lot of guts

I watched this on PBS (soon possibly to be defunded). Fascinating!

Funny you mention this, the book is sitting on my desk. I did an addition for a customer and he gave it to me and recommended reading it. Haven't gotten to it yet but I'm looking right at it.
