The Allegheny River is finally starting to come down a little bit so I wrapped up some Clousers and grabbed my 7wt and headed out this morning.

Nice job!
I love when the white bass are aggressive...they create a wake as they chase a shallow running fly.

Nice. Where are you finding white bass? Is it in the locks backwaters?

Yup. Below any of the locks. I haven't fished the river much in the past but Im finding a few spots that hold fish. I mostly find smallies but a few whites too...and walleye. Its a lot of fun.

Cool pics Turkey. We don't see white bass photos here everyday but they're a scrappy alternative fish for folks around the Burgh.

I used to catch them below the locks on the Monongahela as a kid. Quite a few fish over 14" too. Good times...

White bass have helped me fill a limit during a tournament several times.... Not the biggest bass, but I welcome them when I only have a few fish in the livewell. Great job!
