Wrapping jig parts missing....what do I need for this?

I purchased this many years ago, and IIRC it was used to repair a rod. It worked as I still have the rod.

I don't recall this device having a "tension" rod (you know...looks like the last 8" of a spinning rod) but as it sits now, apparently it has the part to install a thread tension device....and appears I'm missing the spring.

I know this is a rod building 101 question, but can anyone tell me what part(s) I would need to complete this jig?

Thanks!

Run the thread through the middle of a big book. Adjust tension by how many pages you have on top of the thread. It's how I did it the first couple of times.

I have a wrapper just like it and don’t use the loop that you are missing. I use it like that only for the tension of the silk. If I was wrapping 5 rods a day I would have a different setup 😁

For all that I use it....I like the book idea.
