Winter smallmouth

Caught my first smallmouth of the year in a classic shoreline Eddy that has provided many winter fish for me over the last few years. I used a Olive/white clouser low and slow. The next few days are looking nice and the water looked great. If you can get out and give it a shot.

Awesome. I literally haven't done any cold weather river fishing..I've been all over the trout. Man, I need to start fishing smallies again all winter like I used to.

Since the OP, the river has almost tripled in flow. Just started to drop back but it will take a while to get back to where it was. It has looked good for the last 2 weeks
