There is a crik in the woods in YoCo that gets a preseason stocking and then gets pounded opening day and then the pressure diminishes I am sure. Well not sure but its likely.
Here is one stream that has benefited from the reduction in stocking numbers over the years...mainly when Big Spring closed and again when the Lunker Trout were reduced in density and smaller streams removed from the typical 10 per section allocation.
Came across big fish in every deep hole. Couldn't catch them always but I know where they live now...
And I even got one of the stocked brookies.
Water temp was 69 on this 92 degree day. I figured I would wait til the sun went behind the hills and try to fish a local sleeper. I was not disappointed.
Mike K can be credited for ignoring this stream when stocked trout allocations were considered. You got it right this time Mike.
