I'm headed out to this area later with my girlfriend so we might try to do some fishing and a picnic together. The questions is, however, whether or not this lake stays cool enough for stocked trout to live through the warmer months? Would there still be trout in there this time of year? And what other types of fish are living in this small lake? We are going to stop somewhere near there with a lake so she can just pull the old worm/bobber trick and I'll fly fish a bit. I know Greenwood can sustain trout throughout the summer so might go there, but I love WW fish too.

By now, the stocked trout in Whipple Dam are probably all caught out or have died from thermal stress or have tried to move up into small Laurel Run that feeds the dam. Many years ago when I worked there during the summer, there were quite a few sunfish and a few decent bass. Whipple is pretty small, and you really cannot expect too much. But, it really is a pretty place -- a nice little park for a picnic outing.
