I read the older thread on these rods here on the forums.
From what I'm reading about these rods and knowing how and where I'm fishing I like these combos. I think for the price it meets my budget and I get almost a complete set up. I like the Redington reel but is it worth the extra $40? these are the two combos i have narrowed it down to.

Any input for me before I make the investment? I'm not 100% sure on these rods so if anyone thinks for a near similar price I could do better, please comment.

Never mind this post I purchased an Orvis. I'll comeback to this rod next time on the market.

What did you get?

I bought last years model of the Orvis Clearwater II 7'6"-3wt with an Orvis Battenkill Disc Drag Fly Reel loaded with backing and Orvis WF #3 F

A little late I know, but I casted them when I was purchasing my last Brookie rod...ultimately decided they were a little slow for me. Ended up with an LLBean Streamlight Ultra 6'11 4wt...just a touch on the medium side of medium/fast IMO. Don't remember the pricing specifics but it was more or less in the same ballpark as the CGR's.
