What do you consider vintage?

This makes sense. Vintage to me is bamboo, fiberglass, Martin/Hardy clicker reels, etc. Guess it just a sign of getting older.

Only gear I have that fits that bill is a Curt Gowdy fiberglass rod and the first “good” flyrod I purchased back in the 80’s- which I really should take out and fish sometime-
If a famous person's name is on the item, and that person died over a decade ago, then feel free to call that item "vintage."

Whatever the guys driving Honda Elements with front plates, driving west to fish places like the Broadhead, Paradise, McMichaels, etc say is vintage.

Clearly, I’m no expert in these matters. If you want advice on how to be a jagoff though, I’m you’re guy.

I'd say any fly rod prior to 2000 could be considered vintage. Personally, I consider stuff 1990 or older to be vintage

I guess all being said, I’ll be staying vintage the rest of my life based on material, I hope the good lord will give me another 25 years, a lot more rods to make. Here is my favorite rod, my Dad has 001. A 7’9” 4wt is my all around favorite rod in PA for the streams I fish! But, if I have to go back to the car for something shorter or longer I’m okay with that.

How about "infamous?"

I have my name on more than a few rods either factory or custom. Maybe I should let the wife know when I've been dead 10 years, she might get a buck or two more when she sells my stuff... 😉
