What Are You Tying Today?

I don't like beadhead nymphs. I think they are ugly. Pretty rare that I tie one. After resisting the urge for a few years, I decided to tie up some of these new fangled perdigons to see what all the fuss is about.......

Don't worry, I'll make sure no one is looking when I tie one on. šŸ˜‰

I floated with a guy last year and he did very well with this fly. He called it a ""Double Bubble". It was during Hendrickson time. Maybe it was taken as an emerging dun. Or maybe as a caddis. I tied a bunch with two CDC bubbles and an equal number with a single bubble. With the single it might be more aptly called a Loop Wing emerger. I tied them on Tiemco 100 in #14 & #16.

Is one bubble on top of the other bubble?

No, one bubble is tied in at the bend and tied off at mid point on the fly. Then another CDC feather is attached, dub the rest of the abdomen, then pull it over. If some cdc fibers are wild just leave them. It makes the fly buggier. The body is natural rough rabbit. Enlarged like this makes it look kinda ugly. But in a #16 it looks like something a trout will jump all over.
