These work REALLY well. I picked a couple up in Montana to use on rivers out that way, and had lots of success around here with them too.

I’ve been tying some streamers for smallmouth fishing, if I can find time to get out this spring. I found this baitfish pattern from Brian Schumaker called the shimmer minnow.

The materials are a size 2 stinger hook and a 15mm shank, connecting wire, white marabou, medium palmer chenille in pearl, a gray copic marker, and a fish-mask head.

Colorado Guide Flies - Pat Dorsey

Tups indispensable wet fly tied on a size 14 hook. This is a really old English pattern created way back in the 1890’s with an interesting history. I’ve never tied or fished this pattern before but I’m hoping to add it to my wet fly rig this season when the sulphurs start popping and the trout are working the upper water column. I’m sure it’ll net a few fish.
