What Are You Tying Today?

I would probably shorten up the tail a bit - maybe closer to a hook shank in length. One with a tail that long may be much more susceptible to short strikes. Nice job on that little bugger!
Thanks for the feedback. Greatly appreciated!

Poly dubbed, poly yarn mole fly, Mustad 543H #17. I like these old hooks: same size as a Partridge #20 K4A grub hook, but with no offset, a wider gap and a larger eye. Probably not quite as sharp, and the barb will snap rather than flatten, but they’re cheap and seem pretty strong.

I try to tie them about a hook length. Still look like a good tie to me.

Better but still not tight wraps. Maybe after i tie a bunch of them I will get better.
You will definitely show improvement with repetitive tying of the same pattern. I already see it in the two photos that you have posted. This is what makes tying for a swap so beneficial. Keep after it, your ties look great!
