WD-40's

So I've been researching emergers and came across the WD-40. Anyone fish this with success. From what I've read emergers are more successful in catching fish during a hatch than a dry fly.

This imitates a midge/mayfly emerger so it seems like it has many uses. Also what colors do you use?

I usually see them tied as a full blown nymph w/ bead and that is usually how I tie and fish them. They are a good simple fly for imitating small naturals. Olive and brown colors cover a broad range of hatches.

They can easily be fished as an emerger, but that goes for any lightly weighted or unweighted nymph. Just fish them on a greased leader, as a trailer under a dry, or 1-3 feet below a small dab of strike putty or other very small indicator. By the way, I've found most nymph patterns can easily be adapted to an emerger pattern by adding a loop or small puff of cdc instead of a wingcase.
