I have wading boots with felt soles and carbide star studs. They work well. I just put down a deposit on a canoe. However, carbide studs will play havoc with the fiberglass. Maybe Korkers would do it? Rubber soles in the canoe then change to studded to get out a wade.

Get a bath mat, put it down where your feet will be.

Great idea with the bath mat. I've been using korkers with interchangeable soles. One boot does it all. It's also a great marketing strategy on their part because now that I'm invested in different soles, I have to continue to buy their boots! I'm on my second pair. The new vibrum rubber soles are awesome...much better than their "kling-on" rubber soles.

A slab of some commercial grade carpet and some quality carpet tape. I think DaveS has the same piece on his boats standing platform for 3-4 years now. Can't believe how long it's held.

Great ideas guys, thanks, lots cheaper than new boots.
