Whats the best way to find pinholes in neoprene waders. I have 2 pr. and both have holes I can't find. They do not seem to be on a seam.

Thanks,

What worked for me was to turn them inside out (if they are stocking foot) and fill one leg at a time. Any leaks will seep thru.

I have tried it all. Repairs prolong the pain of a new pair. At least my lazy arse has begin to think so. But, time is money, and so when you owe, delay is money.

Turn them inside out.... And in a completely darkened room put a bright (the brighter the better) flashlight inside and that should help locate the pinholes ..... Good luck..

Lonewolve posted the best way. Simms sent me a hardcopy of the videos years ago. It also helps to spay your waders with Revivex at least once a year.

The original poster asked how to find pinholes in neoprene waders - which means ones made entirely of neoprene I believe.
That alcohol method shown on the simms video may work for breathables - but has never worked on neoprene for me.
And the flashlight method doesn't work very well on them either from my experience.
The best way I've found - is to turn them inside out, and fill them with water. And that works fine for holes in feet or legs.
However, if your leaks are in the crotch area or higher - it gets pretty hard to fill them up that far with water, while keeping them suspended. They get quite heavy.
What I do in that case, is blow them up with a shop vac - and the hose put in the exhaust port. Then dab soapy water around the area where i think the leak is, and look for air bubbles.

Thanks, guys. I think I will try filling them with air.

Once the neoprene gets compressed it will leak no matter what you do. It's the nature of the beast.
