Embrace A Stream

Good morning.

Embrace A Stream starts TODAY, and we are asking you to join us in our efforts to make this the most awesome day of giving our community has ever seen!

We are writing to ask you to take five minutes to give to: https://www.embraceastream.org/organizations/valleyforge

Your donation of any amount will help, but-
$25 will help fund stream temperature loggers- 1 logger costs $55
$50 will help fund Brook Trout DNA water testing- 1 test costs $67
$75 will help fund a macro-invertebrate study- 1 sample costs $190
$100 will help fund an electro-fishing study- 1 test costs $3000
Here’s how you can make a HUGE difference today:

VFTU is up to $1625 of the $7500 goal this week. Orvis has matched our first $1000.

Hey Les, this looks awesome. I hope you can find some streams that are suitable for reintroduction. The existing populations are a fraction of what they were even 10 years ago. Will donate and see if some folks from my chapter are interested in donating.

Where'd you find temperature loggers for $55?

Yo sarce - great to hear from you! I think the Mayfly Loggers are via Stroud Water Research Center, which is one bodacious world class outfit, right in your former backyard. You ought to check into the replay of this month's VFTU General Meeting: a couple young scientists talk about the impact of culverts on Doe Run, where they found some brookies.

We're up to 40% of goal, but only a day left. https://www.embraceastream.org/organizations/valleyforge read the great background at this link about the specifics of our project

Thanks Les. My chapter uses HOBO loggers that are $120 apiece. I'll have to look into the Mayflys. At $55 it wouldn't be as problematic when floods rip out 1/3 of our equipment never to be seen again.
