Upper Savage River Tribs

South of Grantsville, find New Germany Rd south westward and then Big Run Rd, which heads toward the lake. There are free camp sites along the road into the park that surrounds the lake. You may need a free permit to secure exclusive use of your site. All lake tribs, the main stem above the lake, but especially the main stem below the dam.

I have fished the tribs several times and had good success, I have also stayed at the cabins owned by savage river outfitters which are great and ideally located. Use a never sink caddis and you can't go wrong.
