Since its the middle of summer and way to warm to trout fish, I've been looking around for good warm water fishing. I have caught some smallmouth in the Tully up to 10 inches in the upper stretches fishing for trout. I was wondering if anyone had good experience with the carp that I know are in there or smallmouth in the lower section. I saw there is a dam there at the mouth so I know they can't swim up from the skuke. I figured the few degrees cooler water temp would be a interest for bass in the heat of the summer. Thanks

The lower Tully has a very low density SMB population. Not worth fishing for them. See PFBC biologist reports archives for Area 6. I think there are two that compare various SE Pa warmwater fish populations using electrofishing catch rates as measures of relative abundance. I would stick with the Schuylkill from Gibralter up to Port Clinton if I still lived in your area.

That’s a real shame. I wonder how it is below the dam
