Tricos & ants

Very good Tricos on Wednesday morning from 9 - 12. Rose six and landed four. No big fish though only 12 " - 15". Thursday afternoon major red flying ants from 4 - 7. Again no big fish. Landed two 13" & 15". Tuesday I floated alone and landed my best brown of the season, 22" swinging a beadhead caddis emerger. No rises so I had to adapt to the conditions.

Guessing this was on the west branch of the Delaware?

You're lucky to have tricos. The two streams where I used to fish trico hatches for small to medium-size trout no longer have tricos. A feedlot has obviously killed them off on one stream. Horse traffic into the water is the probably culprit on the other. Kind of disheartening.
