I think it's odd how times have changed.
I remember when my grandparents would have a dinner and a slide show of vacations they took to places like China or Australia and would show the family.
People today will have digital slide shows their kids find after they pass away of food they ate or shoes they almost bought one time.

The sound and smell of a classic slide projector is euphoric to me. It hits the nostalgia flashbacks hard. Dinner and a show with the parents. It was always a childhood highlight. The unwanted endless shadow puppets were just a bonus. Good times 🙂

Beats fishing in this weather.
I still have a working slide projector and lots of slides of trout streams, people fly fishing, wild trout etc.
I gave a slide show at a TU chapter, projecting on a large screen, and afterwards a guy asked me if it was possible to convert digital photos to slides.

My mom used to make us pancakes for dinner occasionally as a special treat and I've made them for the wife a few times..
Eggs... If I could a afford them, I'd have them for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
Yea, I've had breakfast before after the Monocasy as well... 😉

I do this often when I'm in the mood for pork roll, egg, and cheese.....err...I mean taylor ham, egg, and cheese. Along with a batch of fried potatoes, onions, and peppers which were standard diner homefries back in the day. Now you get fried potatoes only, you have to ask for and pay extra for the onions and peppers and they are done separate so it doesn't taste the same anyways.
I am going to town today for some things. Should I buy Hatfield pork roll or Taylor? Which is better?

When I was a kid, LONG before I discovered the magic of a pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast or dinner, we ate pork roll on a bun or roll with mustard for dinner.
A couple of Greek diner tips if you are planning to make you own home fries.
Use Russets or Yukon Gold, they brown better
BAKE the potatoes in advance the night before in a microwave or an oven, peel them if that is your preference and put them in a Ziploc and refrigerate until needed
When they are baked and cold they slice great, plus you can brown them in butter in short order because they are already cooked. Butter will also add its own flavor notes and IMHO they get crispier when fried in butter.
If you want home fries with onions & peppers, saute them until soft and then add your potatoes.

I 'd buy Taylor as it is the real deal stuff from Joisey and the basis for every other brand.
If your Giant has just the packages of slices, buy both and decide what you like better.
