The yough around Cedar Creek Park.

Caught my first smallmouth, and first 3 fallfish on a fly rod last weekend. I would like to get into more smallmouth, heard there is good smallmouth fishing around cedar creek park in belle vernon. My buddy and I are thinking about taking a day trip there sunday, maybe renting a canoe, or taking our bikes to use the allegheny trail. Anyone ever fished there? Is it worth the hour drive, or should we go somewhere on the Juniata?

Scott Loughner used to guide for smallmouth on that part of the Yough, and maybe he still does.

I fished briefly in that area and caught a few smallmouth, and saw some carp.

There are places where you can rent canoes on the river. Go for it.

Thanks for the reply. Were going, were just going to take our bikes and use the trail to cover more river than simply walking.
