These were caught friday on a popper in the Yough. They were among 50 some fish i caught with my dad between 8 and 4pm. All were taken on homeade poppers. The last two were both over 20 inches. The greatest day ive had on the yough in 15 yrs of flyfishing for smallies.

Great to see! The Yough is an underrated smallie and warm water fishery in my opinion. The first couple weeks of June are often tough bass fishing due to post spawn doldrums but this year everything seems to be happening early (even the salt water fish showed up early on the NJ and NY beaches). The pre-spawn river smallie fishing this year was very good and hopefully water levels will stay low the next few weeks allowing for a good bass year class.
Lookin to be a fine year for river bassin.

i bet sandflys helgrammite fly will nail em in the yough
