Midges swarm Browns in Cleveland ahead of Guardians-Yankees series

Midges are all over the place at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland one day after the Guardians set up a matchup with the New York Yankees.

I was at a playoff game in Cleveland against the Yankees in 2007 when the midges hatched and descended on the stadium. In the bottom of the 8th inning, the midges completely unnerved the Yankees and Cleveland tied the game. It’s still the most exciting game I’ve ever attended.

The midges hatch on the lake one week each October, and they are prolific. The clouds of midges even show up on the weather radar.
