Read one of the previous reports and it should give you some understanding of the metrics and methodology. Briefly: night boat electrofishing at the same (multiple) sites and the same general time of year each year. Fish abundance index is mean catch per hour of electrofishing. Fish are aged and catch per hour can also be calculated for each age fish, combined ages, each length group of fish, and combined length groups. Young of year (YOY) fish are surveyed at another time of the year (July) using different electrofishing gear and the abundance index is catch per unit shoreline distance. Fish are also examined for external signs of disease in each type of survey.
