Striped Bass Port Deposit, MD

went out in a kayak for the opener this morning just above Port Deposit. I was using conventional spinning gear and very large top water lures. My dad and I caught and realeased 9 stripers up to 30 inches in about 2 hours.

Increadible action for those who want to give it a go on a fly rod. I would bring at least an 8 wt and some musky sized lures. All fish we were landing were in the 4lb + range.

Looks like was really off in my weight estimate. A 25 inch striper ( mostly what I caught) is aproximately 7 lbs. So yeah don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.
