Been on a streamer and classic salmon fly tip lately.
Showed some of my streamers in the other thread i posted last week. The Sidewinder was fly of the day yesterday on Streamers365. If you're not following that project, its a great showcase of classic rangeley style streamers, both original new as well as established patterns. I've got 3 more streamers in the project to come up later in the year. The flies are auctioned off for various fishing related charities at the end of each month, some by well established tyers like Don Bastian, Mike Boyer, Bob Frandsen and many others.
Its definitely worth checking out if you like to collect flies.
Here's the sidewinder, along with a classic grey ghost
Tom Tickler (Tolfrey) 2/0 and 1.5. I just started tying classic salmon flies, so still lots of work to improve them in terms of neatness and proportions, but we all gotta start somewhere
The Smith (Kelson) Alec Jackson 1/0 hook - this is the first time i've tied this pattern and on this style hook. Proportions are off. I'm tying it for a swap on another forum, so wanted to see what i would need to improve before i get them tied up and submitted.
