Streamer Boxes

This isn't a streamer box per se, and I don't fish them very often, but it's where I keep the few streamers I do use. More poor orginization. The back side of it holds more of what I use most often on my mountain freestones.

Uncanny how similar.

I use a handgun case. Pretty much what the big streamer boxes are that sell for $$$. Just go to amazon and buy streamer inserts the same dimensions as the box. Vioala - home made streamer box that looks exactly like the one above, just black.
The Kingfishers are $20. I'm sure there are cheaper DIY versions, but I don't think that price is bad at all.

Oh wow, I didnt even realize they were that reasonable! You're right that is a great price. Only reason I used a gun case is because I had a spare on lying around and my grandfather would curse me from the grave if I didn't reuse/recycle/refurbish.

The price of the MFC, etc. ones is definitely what kept me off buying this style for years. I've usually used large Plano flats (and glued in foam, as you mentioned).

I was actually searching for ways to buy the blank boxes direct from a manufacturer when I stumbled upon the cheaper version on Amazon a few days ago.

I have fully bought into the C&F universal system, so I now keep my streamers in the streamer foams, and they either live in my chest pack, the large fly box, or the boat box. I like the large size C&F box with the streamer foam, and can fit way more in there than I would need for a trip. Being able to swap out the foams really helps for switching things around.

I’ve used a bunch of different boxes over the years, and I’ve found the C&F Design fly boxes to be a solid option. They’re a bit larger, which gives you more room for feathers and flies without cramming them in. The foam inserts hold things in place pretty well, so I haven’t had any issues with feathers getting crushed. If you’re looking for something that gives you a bit more space but still keeps everything organized, I’d definitely recommend giving them a try.
