Spring Steelhead

As far as I know, there is still a few places in Erie where the coho are reproducing in small numbers. I personally haven’t seen them for about 5 years, but I know a few locals that say they find a few every year in the same redd areas of some tiny tribs.
 
The above statement is true, there is a small percentage of Coho spawning going on each year, I do see a few fish in the same areas from year to year.

As far as fishing goes, there are more fish around than usual. Still some fresh fish trickling in the Erie tribs. Like others said, Ohio is the place to be but you can find fish and not see too many people at all on the Erie tribs this time of year. Remember if your in a run with a lot of smolts, try to move on from them and leave them from being caught.
