South America Walt's Worm

I've had good luck buying fly materials from Temu. Got some stuff called South America fur that's loaded with guard hairs. Now I love fly tying videos where I've learned a lot but sometimes those tyers trim and trim and fuss with the fly. As if they are tying a presentation fly. Been tying this Walt's Worm and leaving all the guard hairs and have had great luck catching trout. Don't know why. Maybe when wet it looks like a scud.

I’ve heard Tom Rosenbauer say that the uneven, misshapen and funky looking flies often fish better.
