If ever there was something for a FAQ/sticked thread, its those two images and the associated explanation.

The topic of rod action and power is by far the most misunderstood by anglers. I can't tell you how often I explain this to customers. Those two pictures are perfect illustrations that explain and make clear what the terms power and action mean. The other term that is not used much but causes even further confusion is frequency/recovery rate. This is also impacted by the weight of the componants attached to the rod.
Afish...thanks for posting those photos. I think we all could benefit from studying them for a few minutes so that there is a good understanding of those properties.
