here are a few of my shedder flies,
tied to imitate the instar shed of flies. Early spring you see a lot of these as the nymphs really begin to grow after the winter in preparation for hatching.

By bleached, do you mean white materials or do you actually bleach the fly after the fact?

I buy a pheasant tail that is bleached.

Sometimes they are cheaper than dyed because they are typically bleached before the dying process; thus saving a step.

I'm sure you can do it at home though. However, I don't know how.

fly tying fred and I do some bleaching, there's some smelly chemicals involved. its the same as bleaching hair at a salon. the biots on my flies were turkey feathers, bleached till just a slight bit of tan showed.

They look nice

What are the wing cases made of?

bleached turkey biots Steve.
