Fished ocmd from kayaks last night. Got there with about 30 minutes left of the high tide and fished the entire outgoing. Water was a little murky at high tide but cleared up as night went on. Water temp was 44 and light wind with rain drizzle the whole time. We fished fast sinking line and chartreuse and white #1 clousers. I landed 46 and my buddy landed 35. The fished ranged from 16” to 26” with most between 18” and 22”. The most fun was when we were wading a shallow flat and fish couldn’t dive so they took off across the bay in 24 inches of water. All the fish were fatter than I have ever seen. We did not see any sign of bait and the fish weren’t spitting anything up but they were definitely gorging on something. Great fun and awesome way to start off the striper season! It was a great warm up for the big New Jersey cow stripers that will invade the bays and rivers in the next few weeks!

sounds like a incredible experience. i remember reading a book ... On The Run ... where a young guy quits his job and follows the striper run up ( or down?? ) the east coast for a season. just to experience this once would be a treat.
