Letting go of old faithful......
SAGE SP - 690-3
Rod is in solid shape. Not going to pretend it's like new because it's not. This baby has seen some country and seen some fish!
From Montana, Yellowstone to the Mainstem of the Delaware.
Moderate fast action with lots of power down in the butt.
Great easy loading bigger water nymphing rod, that can really power the casts to out of reach risers with a dry fly as well.
Think Pine Creek, Delaware, western waters.
And it is really at home throwing smaller streamers. Powerful and smooth.
I tried to highlight the "kisses" on the blank a couple scuffs around the logo and butt end that don't affect the integrity at all. The SP line is probably the most bulletproof rod Sage has ever made.
Cork is in good shape (I cleaned 25+ years of fish slime off it and freshened it up....it feels pretty new at this point) , reel seat has always been kept clean and put away dry.
Tube is reflective of age....no dents, plenty of scratches, and no end cap writing to speak of.
Pull this thing out on the river in front of company and it's automatic street cred. 😎
Price reflects that she's probably a solid 6, but she's got a lot of life left in her and would appreciate some more action!
Had it out for a full week last year nymphing on the Bighorn River and it was fantastic as usual.
$275 shipped or $250 face to face..... Firm.
Ol' Faithful deserves a firm fair price. I'm ok with dying with this one. LOL
I'd meet someone within 20-30 miles of Pottsville or so.
Cabela's in Hamburg is always a good meet up spot if you're in the area.
I'm ok with PayPal, cash meet up, or even snail mail a personal check if you dont trust technology or that I'm not a serial killer. LOL 😉
