Recommend a chest pack?

My recommendations would be to use the search function (on this site) or at least scroll through the gear section and look for jacket threads. I know there are some.

For stores specifically- I would try

sierratradingpost

or

cabelas

I have used both stores (good prices and quality products) and each had very good customer service.

Cabelas Backcountry wading jacket ( I think) is the one I have. I think a few others have he same and like it. Within your budget.

I'm currently wearing a cabela's wading jacket, and he's right, you can't beat the price. However, I'm a huge bean fan and going to pick this up for my next spring, early fall

Been through a few different vests/packs trying to find the perfect one. So far I am very happy with this . . . .

This pack is roomy, can be worn standalone of combined with one of a few different Simms backpacks for when you need larger capacity for rain jackets, etc. I teamed mine up with the Simms Dry Creek Day Pack, though if the Simms Headwaters Day Pack had been around when making the decision I may have leaned that way due to larger capacity than the Dry Creek Day Pack.

anyone else used this Willy Joe Equinox that Skiltonian recommended on the first page? I don't like stuff sticking off the front of me so much and this seems great and cheap, just afraid it won't balance well...

I enjoy this orvis chest pack

It allows you to use your chest wading pouch should you have one and has a pack on the back that does not allow you to take uneccessary items
