rabbit ear nymph question

Just tied a few from a utube video with wood duck and natural rabbit ear dubbing. They seem so very light in color to me compared to the pheasant tail stuff i started with. Do you guys use nymphs that light in color much?

Some of the nymphs I tie are lighter in color. If you're saying you tied gold ribbed hare's ear nymphs then you should have good results with them. They are very effective flies.
Also keep in mind that the natural hare's ear dubbing will darken up a couple shades when it gets wet.
