My son has practice tonight and the days are finally long enough that I could get in a quick outing at a nearby stream while he is on the court. This was a return to a stream I haven't fished in years.
I caught a wild brown on the second cast. I missed more than I should have but they were willing to rise to a dry for the 45 minutes I was out. Apart from one brightly colored rainbow, I'm pretty sure all the fish that rose were wild browns. I only landed a couple.
I fished this stream a couple times about a decade ago and caught only stocked fish. I hadn't fished it since high school before that. I don't remember what the stocked vs wild ratio was then but it was nice to find some wild fish present this time around.
