Question on Wild Brook/Brown Coloring

I fished one of these AMD streams yesterday and was treated well. The stream receives stockings at points and has wild browns. I’ve fished it maybe 10 times over a few miles of water this year and it’s possible ive caught more natives that anything. Also the higher upstream I go the more orange the bottom gets and the more I catch just Brookies.

This was from a completely shaded stretch on a mountain freestone with no known AMD.

When fishing waters impacted by AMD, i've noticed the "washed out" look. I always assumed the water quality caused this in some manner.

That's generally been my experience as well.
